GL365 Radio Pointing Souls To Christ
Pastor Darby hailed from rural Jamaica, in the hills of St. Andrew. He influenced many lives in the district of Bloxburgh. Consequently, when he started worshiping in Line Tree he had already has his followers.
Then in 1968, there was an opening for a pastor at the Headquarters Church, Berea, and Pastor Darby filled that vacancy. His pastoral ministry at Berea began with much enthusiasm and lasted for eight years. During his tenure at Berea, he also served as the President of the Caribbean Conference (then, Jamaica Mission of Seventh Day Christians).
Pastor Darby loved music, and he played an instrument called Accordion. He did not only play it at his host church but he was always invited to play at other churches in the district. Whenever he played this instrument, it seemed like hosts of angels came down and it was as if he was in a trance.
Pastor Darby, a man of God, served with much fervency. He was dubbed, a ‘Spiritual Man. ’ Whenever he preached the spirit of God would rest upon him, and without opening his Bible, he would deliver, ‘thus said the Lord. ’
He was quite strict, especially when it came unto keeping the Sabbath. This he would enforce in the church. Pastor Darby kept the doors of Berea opened with great pride and dignity until the baton was handed over.
